New coaches are always welcome!! We offer our coaches training & mentoring to help them succeed and have fun. The club's goal is to help ALL our coaches achieve the United Soccer Coaches (USC) certification for the age & skill group they are coaching.

Other Volunteers: The club has a lot of things going on all year long and are always looking for folks with the desire to help out. We are always looking for a wide variety of talents to help us do a better job. Contact us and let's see what we can do.

Washington State Youth Soccer Association requires all volunteers who work with the players to have a background check.

We are a 100% volunteer organization that works together to help our kids progress and succeed.

The volunteers who comprise the South Kitsap Soccer Club are dedicated to developing and transforming well-balanced individuals into successful, well trained and disciplined soccer players. Our efforts are focused upon teaching the technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of the game in an inspirational environment where creativity, innovation, confidence and teamwork can thrive.

Our mission relies upon the commitment and passion of coaches, team managers, and other volunteers and requires that we priortize the training, development, and ongoing support of quality coaches within the club.

South Kitsap Soccer Club honors coaching education both from United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and United Soccer Coaches (USC). The objectives of coaching education are:

  • To develop our coaches knowledge and understanding of the game

  • To implement modern and relevant age appropriate training curriculums and initiatives to promote long term player development in our club

  • To cultivate a culture of coaches whose foundation is built on best practices

  • To inspire coaches of all ages to continue their personal and professional development as educators of the game

  • To solidify a coaching education pathway where coaches can matriculate through our system

  • To monitor and evaluate our programs to ensure that we our providing the best service and support possible to our membership

  • To foster a positive and supportive atmosphere within our club, with coaches who are committed to the long term success of their players, both as athletes and as positive members of their community.

SKSC encourages coaches to pursue training through United Soccer Coaches, and facilitates local training sessions each year. USC's site offers numerous online and in-person training courses to improve your coaching. Ask the club about possible course fee reimbursement.

There is additional online training provided by the National Federation of High School Associations at www.nfhslearn.com. Here you can find courses on the fundamentals of coaching, coaching soccer, sports first aid, and concussion training. The courses are all online and done at your own pace, they come with supporting documents as well as helpful videos. The soccer course provides some very good short videos on various drills and what to be looking for as well as teaching points for the specific drill.
