Programs

South Kitsap Soccer Club (SKSC), based in Port Orchard, Washington, focuses on fostering a love of soccer while developing players’ technical, tactical, physical, and social skills in a supportive environment. Beyond athletic development, SKSC emphasizes character, sportsmanship, leadership, and community involvement for players, parents, coaches, and referees. The club offers both recreational programs (with affordable fees, quality coaching, and a local fall season) and the SK United premier program (with year-round competition, summer tournaments, and league play). SKSC has been serving the Kitsap community since 1975 and is affiliated with US Youth Soccer and US Club Soccer. They strive to keep competitive soccer financially accessible, maintain transparent communication, and provide opportunities for every child who wants to play, with volunteer coaches who meet coaching education standards.

How To Register

Recreational: U5-U8

(Micro)

Micro Soccer is designed for young players ages 4–7 (U5–U8), based on age as of December 31. At this stage, the focus is on introducing the basics of soccer in a fun, supportive environment. Players begin to learn simple skills and teamwork while being gently introduced to game play and friendly competition—all while emphasizing enjoyment, confidence, and a love for the game.

Program Overview & Team Structure

Micro Soccer is for players U5–U8, based on age as of December 31. Teams are formed by age group and gender and play against teams of the same gender. In rare cases and at a parent’s request, a girl may be placed on a boys’ team on an individual basis. Teams include up to 8 players, and games are played 4v4 on the field.

Practices & Games

Practices typically run from the first week of August through late October and are scheduled by volunteer coaches. Most teams practice twice per week, with all practices held on South Kitsap School District fields. Game schedules are released shortly after Labor Day, with games beginning the following weekend. Most games are local, though U7–U8 teams may occasionally travel nearby.

Program Overview & Team Structure

Mod Soccer is for players U9–U10, based on age as of December 31. Teams are formed by age group and gender and compete against teams of the same gender. In rare cases and at a parent’s request, a girl may be placed on a boys’ team on an individual basis. Team rosters are finalized by late July and include 6–12 players, with games played 7v7, including a goalkeeper.

Practices & Games

Practices typically begin in the first week of August and continue through late October. Practice schedules are set by volunteer coaches and usually occur twice per week, with all practices held on South Kitsap School District fields. Game schedules are released shortly after Labor Day, with games starting the following weekend. Some games may be played outside South Kitsap, depending on team availability.

In rare cases, a girl may be placed on a boys’ team at a parent’s request. Team sizes vary by age: U11–U12 teams play 9v9, while U13–U19 teams play 11v11, including the goalkeeper. Coaches typically receive rosters by late July.

Mod Soccer is designed for players ages 8–9 (U9–U10), based on age as of December 31. At this stage, players begin transitioning into more structured and competitive play while still focusing on skill development, teamwork, and—most importantly—having fun and building confidence on the field.

Recreational: U11-U19 (Regulation)

Recreational Soccer is for players U11–U19 (ages 10–18 as of December 31). At this level, players begin to experience a more competitive style of play while continuing to develop advanced skills, game understanding, and teamwork, all within a fun and supportive environment.
